TWH Social

Located within the historic The Walper Hotel, TWH Social is a contemporary bar and bistro created through the renovation of the former Rum Runner Pub in downtown Kitchener.

Serving as General Contractor, Zehr Group completed the transformation of the lower-level space into a vibrant dining and social destination. The renovation introduced a 46-foot custom millwork bar, an inviting dining room featuring an antiqued mirror feature wall, and a flexible private party room designed to accommodate gatherings and events.

Throughout the project, the construction team carefully highlighted the building’s historic character, incorporating exposed reclaimed brick walls, intricate tile flooring, and a custom wine display built within the pub’s original bank vault. The completed space blends modern hospitality design with the heritage charm of The Walper Hotel, creating a distinctive venue that contributes to the continued revitalization of downtown Kitchener’s dining and entertainment scene.
